Vivary Park
Public running has been a battle with the weather on most of our running days. However, the team always made the best of it with the Catering Division supporting everybody. We have at last received permission to extend the track and if you should go to Vivary Park, look for the yellow markings on the ground and in the old Tennis Court which indicate where the additional track will be laid. Construction will not commence on site until after the running season, but off site work has already started. The Flower Show proved to be successful for us and a full report on that will be in the next “Oily Rag”. As always, many thanks to all who make our Railway in Vivary Park to be something of which we are very proud. Vivary Park Track Extension Work on the extension of the Raised Track is expected to commence very shortly and we estimate that we shall require about 1,600 Sleepers for it. If any members have any second hand Hardwood tucked away that they no longer require, then we shall be very pleased to have it. Facilities are available for us to cut it up into Sleepers. Please contact any Committee Member. ***** The Tickers (Horological Sub-Group) Not a lot to report as we still await more interest from the membership! Graham Barford and myself are going to be making the Alan Timmins Regulator this coming winter. This is a large solid movement designed to achieve great accuracy over a long period. I will report on our progress. Anybody interested in Horology, then do please speak to metelephone 01278 691264 ***** |
