Dear Mr. Editor,

When my husband had departed to a TME meeting the other evening, I got to thinking what a bargain his membership was. When I belonged to a sewing and embroidery group four years ago, the subscription was £48 p.a. and we thought that was a bargain. The only grumble that we had was the 50p charged for tea or coffee—which we had to make ourselves and there were no biscuits!

I am amazed how much TME achieves with such a small fee to members. If I was wearing a hat, I would take it off to the Treasurer—he could surely give Gordon Brown some tips!
