Vivary Park

Our main running this year drew to a close on the 19th October – just the Santa Specials in December to complete our year. Passenger numbers were considerably down – we estimate by 650 -700 on the previous year to about 2,700, but nevertheless, a great achievement by all of those who participated and who deserve our thanks for all their efforts.

I have not been to the Park as much as I would have liked to this year for various reasons, but it has proved what a solid team we have there to maintain our service.

With permission fully granted for our track extension in the Park, it is anticipated that we shall be able to start work on that very shortly. There will be working parties and details of these will be announced at Club meetings.

A happy and healthy new year – and make sure that your locos are ready to go.

The Tickers

(Horological Sub-Group)

Graham Barford and I are progressing with the Alan Timmins Regulator. Very soon, we shall start to make the Pillars to marry the plates together after which we will have the dimensions required for making arbors, etc. for the wheelwork. It is rather like building a motorway - many different areas of construction and then they all start to join up.

If you feel like starting or trying something new then consider horology and do please speak to me as I shall be very glad to help, Phone me on 01278 691264.
