On Thursday the 18th September (and luckily it was a sunny day), we entertained a group of 5” Gauge Locomotives’ owners with their locomotives who were on their annual Pontins Model Engineering Holiday at Brean Sands. We have been used to seeing them at Vivary Park in the past but this was their first visit to Creech.

There were four visitors with three locomotives – a “Saint”, a “Britannia”, and a “B1” and these kept us busy on our turntable. A very pleasant day was enjoyed by all and our visitors said that they were impressed with the progress at Creech. They thanked us for our hospitality and said they looked forward to visiting again next year.

TME members in attendance were Gerry Willis, John Hancock, Allen and Margaret Wellesley Miller, Barry Baxter and me. Our special thanks must go to Margaret who kept us going with tea, coffee and biscuits – in between taking photographs.
