There are those that say I have too much “stuff” - on the other hand there are those - me included - that say I just don’t have enough room! Now my workshop has a sort of 1930's ceiling, a “Donkey Breakfast” board with ½” x 2” battens nailed to the joists. Over the years I have used screw hooks into the battens to hang “stuff” (all other space having been used up). I finally ran out of space on the battens and had nowhere else to go but I still had more “stuff” to store. Then, I had a flash of inspiration – by making a sort of merry-go-round, I could increase the amount of “stuff” hung in a given length of batten by three times (I can do sums with the best of them). A quick search amongst the other “stuff” already hanging around I found a drive pulley from a tumble drier, 10” in diameter. A series of threaded hooks made from 1/8” welding rod screwed into the circumference of the pulley, a length of 3/8” rod threaded both ends, a disc to screw to the ceiling batten and another to hold the pulley on the rod and that’s about it.

Roundabout storage

All my small saws hanging just above my head, now I don’t even have to get off the stool to reach them.
